In 1950 the Weeks Pipe Organ Company built and installed a 64 tube electro-pneumatic unit in a small church in San Angelo, TX.
70 years later a smaller church by the name of The Garden Gathering church purchased the vacant building. They contacted Scott Weeks, great grandson of the founder, and asked if he wanted the organ back. Scott was overjoyed to have the opportunity to have it back. He rented the largest U-Haul he could find and loaded up all the pieces he could fit. A couple of the items he couldn’t accommodate were large trays of antique electronic equipment used to power the blowers & motors to operate the organ. A few years later an enterprising member of the church detached the electronics, flipped over the large pine wood trays and added four spruce wood boxed flues for legs. It’s turned out to be a beautiful (and light weight) picnic table. We call them The Garden Tables!
