The Heart Behind Bay Laurel

Robyn, Riley and Paige are two daughters and a mama who have been helping friends and family design, plan, and coordinate weddings + events for years!

Recognizing a growing need for their services, Robyn and Riley established their business to come alongside bride and grooms, mamas and daddies, friends and family to help with their special day.

Meet Robyn…

I am an Oklahoma girl at heart, but have Texas in my blood! I’ve found the two to be a pretty good mix. My husband (JT) and I moved to West Texas in 2001 to this little town known as San Angelo. When we first got here, I promised myself “as soon as my girls graduate, I’m movin’ back home!” Well by the time they graduated, San Angelo had become HOME. For me the heart of every HOME is the LOVE that grows and the stories that are written there.

I am a romantic at heart and love “love stories”. (Yes, I do watch the Hallmark movies) When I am not helping pregnant moms at the hospital or being “Gigi” to these 5 cuties pictured here, I enjoy working with brides, grooms, and families to help design, plan and coordinate their weddings and events. I love not only creating beautiful spaces but cultivating meaningful atmospheres to celebrate the important events in all of our lives.

Maybe this is the beginning of your story…or maybe you are several chapters in…wherever you find yourself inside your story, we would be honored to be a part of it. Celebrating the small and BIG events in your life matter to us at Bay Laurel!

Meet Riley…

I’m Riley Arrott, co-owner of Bay Laurel with my momma, Robyn. I am married to my high school/college cute (wreck em’) Cal, and mama to Rowen Paige my spunky 6 year old, Hendricks Edward, my joy boy and our blue-eyed baby, Baker Mac. I love Chick-fil-A, chocolate cake, the Office, Gilmore Girls and COFFEE!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a lover of organizing, cleaning, decorating, celebrating and “LOVE”. Planning parties and weddings is something I’ve grown up watching my mom do, eventually coming alongside to help her. Now, we take turns being the boss. He-He

Some of the things I remember most fondly of my wedding day is the incredible smell of my car filled with all of my greenery and flowers as I dorve to the venue with my Gran; the special “reveal moment” with my dad, and sneaking in kisses with Cal and bites of pancakes in between greeting guests. To me, it’s all the little things that contribute to a dream day, and we are here to make sure that all comes to life for you!

Meet Paige…

I’m Paige Lasater, the newest member to the Bay Laurel team. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Beau, and we have two of the cutest babies ever! Jaxon is 8, going on 58 most days. He is fun, funny, SMART, kind, loves dinosaurs, and is his sister’s favorite! Elizabeth (Ellie) is 20 months old and is full of giggles, belly laughs, and is the most curious person I’ve ever met. She and her brother have their daddy’s beautiful brown eyes and all three of them have me wrapped around their fingers.

I’ve grown up loving weddings. My mom has been helping plan and coordinate wedding since I was little. My favorite wedding of all time, of course was Bay Laurel’s first wedding…MINE & BEAUs. It was the dreamiest day ever.

Since helping to plan my own wedding, I realized very quickly that having someone who has experience in planning, coordinating, and design, makes all the difference to your big day.

We would love to be a part of your big day to help make sure that it is all that you dreamed it would be.

Bay Laurel’s Story…

We love celebrating all of life’s special moments, and have a soft spot for weddings! Being a part of the design, planning, and coordination of your special day is what makes us come alive! From the venue, to the florals, to the CAKE…we love every detail. Jesus knows this about us, after all He is the one who planted that love for weddings and celebrations inside of us. Bay Laurel has been in our hearts before we even knew it’s name! We have had many ask, where the name Bay Laurel came from, and even that was given to us by Jesus. He has been part of this from the beginning!

It was a “mild” west Texas summer morning when we set out to spend time on a beautiful ranch with family outside of San Angelo, Texas. Sitting on this ranch is a hilltop scattered with foliage rich in greens, lavender, trees and evergreen thicket-forming shrubs.  The ground there is deeply rooted in love, endurance, hard work, perseverance, and hope.  As we took in all the beauty, the Lord highlighted to Riley a beautiful broadleaf evergreen shrub.  She asked her dad about this specific plant, and he told her it was a Mountain Laurel. Something about that beautiful tree and it’s sweet name stood out and settled it’s way into her heart. The more we sought Him for the name of our soon-to-be wedding + events business, the more He highlighted the Mountain Laurel; a Texas plant that thrives in this landscape. When we looked up the name “laurel” we found that it means “victory, over comer, perseverance”. Another name for the laurel is “bay” or “bay laurel”. Bay actually means “spice, flavorful, fragrant”. The two together, Bay Laurel, is what we landed on. You’ve heard the old saying “every good story has a beginning, middle and end”. So I guess this little snapshot, by definition, means we aren’t finished with our story. In fact, this part of our story is just beginning. Bay Laurel would love to get to be a part of your story, and have you be a part of ours too!!
